Hey Dad

Hey Dad is a group for men who have the best interests of their children at heart ... and who want to share the experience of being a father

Our children are an important gift in our lives.  Fathering and making choices in the best interests of our children is rewarding and challenging.  Regardless of how much time you can spend with your kids, you can do really good parenting.  This group is professionally facilitated by two counsellors, and allows men to come together to explore and focus on how we parent.  The group covers the following topics:

•     The role of fathers
•      Relationships and children
•      Communication
•      Dealing with strong emotions
•      Parenting at a distance
•      Boundaries and discipline

The group is open to fathers who live with their kids and those who may be separated and see their kids for weekends or holidays.  We believe that men have a lot to teach each other about being a parent but there are not many opportunities to get together and talk about some of the most important people in their lives - their kids.

The HEYDAD group  runs between 5.30 and 7.30pm for 10 weeks.  A pre-course interview with a facilitator is essential.  2 facilitators conduct the group.

There is no charge but a donation towards refreshments is welcome.
