Bodywise

 

BODYWISE aims to promote men's awareness and ownership of their emotional and physical wellbeing and improve their capacity for satisfying relationships.  Each session will begin with a short ‘check-in' and an introduction to the session theme.  This is followed by a mix of exercises and discussion. Sessions always include a short tea break.

 

The course is held over eight sessions which include:

 

Session one - Men, the body, and wellbeing

the body - an important and neglected focus for men's wellbeing

 

Session two - That body or my body

to be me or not to be me? ...that is the question!

 

Session three - ‘Getting down and laying around' -

progressive body awareness and relaxation training

 

Session four - The stressed body

stress - what's my  coping style?

 

Session five - Emotional postures

how do I organize myself through my body to meet the world?

 

Session six - Coming to my senses

getting back to the basics of being ‘sense-able 'and ‘response-able' in the world

 

Session seven -Embodying conversation

the use and importance of putting words to feelings in conversation and relationships

 

Session eight - Review

looking at were we've been,  bringing it all together and saying goodbye

 

There is no charge but a donation for refreshments is welcome.
