Boys Talk
'Boy's Talk' is a program for young men about masculinities, non-violence & relationships. Written by Brook Friedman, this program "contains the ideas and hopes of many people to promote a greater range of healthy and socially equitable practices of masculinities."
Some of the topics covered are:
Gender expectations, Feelings and beliefs, Problem solving skills, Examining self harm and abusive behaviour, Sexualities and sexual health, Family, Friends and Relationships.
MARP prefers to run this program in partnership with local schools. We have facilitated groups at Mt Lofty, Downlands College, with the boarding students, St Joseph's College, Centenary Heights, Gatton High School, Flexi school, Clifford Park and Harristown.
Aspects of this program have also been run at Toowoomba Grammar School.
